Matthew L. Flower, Candidate for Magisterial District Judge, 03-3-02 – Northampton County
March 11, 2025

I'm running for Magisterial District Judge in District 03-3-02 because I believe local courts matter. The decisions made in these courtrooms affect real people every day β€” and everyone deserves to be treated with fairness, dignity, and due process.

I'm not a career politician. I’m a working husband, father, and lifelong Pennsylvanian. My background is in operations, logistics, and community service β€” and like many in this area, I’ve had to speak up when something didn’t sit right.

πŸ›οΈ Where I Come From

I was born in Glenside, PA, and today I live in Moore Township, Northampton County, with my wife and children. I earned a B.A. in Criminal Justice in 2011 and have spent most of my career managing people, solving problems, and standing up for others β€” in private industry and in local civic affairs.

I currently serve as Union Steward for Teamsters Local 773 at UPS in Bethlehem Township. I'm also a member of the Moore Township Zoning Hearing Board, and I’ve been active in supporting events and causes that reflect the values of our local community.

βš–οΈ Why I’m Running

Through my own experiences in court proceedings β€” from serving subpoenas to appellate argument and everything in between β€” I’ve gained a deep appreciation for how important it is for courts to be consistent, understandable, and accessible.

These experiences strengthened my belief that every person should be able to rely on a judicial system that honors the law and treats everyone with respect, regardless of background or circumstance.

As a local Magistrate, I would approach each case with impartiality, integrity, and a focus on upholding the rights of all parties involved. I believe the role of a judge is not to decide based on assumptions, but to listen carefully, apply the law fairly, and ensure each person is given a full and fair hearing.

πŸ“ Life on the Farm

Outside of public service, my wife and I raise our children on a small family farm in Moore Township. We keep chickens, geese, rabbits, and hogs β€” not on a large scale, but enough to stay grounded and teach our kids the value of responsibility and hard work.

There’s something about farm life that keeps things simple and clear. You face problems directly, and work towards improvement, one step at a time. I bring that same mindset to everything I do.

πŸ—³οΈ Looking Ahead

This campaign is about service β€” ensuring that the people of District 03-3-02 can trust their local court to function fairly and consistently.

If you believe in due process, fairness, and a legal system that reflects the values of our community, I’d be honored to have your support.
